Different cultures have different rules for the table. Dining etiquette is never spelt out in black and white when you are traversing through foreign countries. For instance, in most cultures, it’s absolutely OK to tip the waiter for exceptional service. However, not in China and Japan, it’s considered very rude to do so. And when dining out with a group of friends, the tendency is to split the bill, however, don’t even think it in France as it’s considered highly unsophisticated.
